(09/18/13) It was with great pleasure that the NACC President, Ole Chr. Schroder signed an Affiliation Agreement with the newly established NACC chapter in Philadelphia. The main objectives of this chapter are to promote Norwegian – American business opportunities; to serve innovative Norwegian and American companies seeking to expand their bilateral business interests and to foster a professional network in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The signing ceremony took place at a meeting of the national Board of Directors of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (NACC) in New York City on September 17. Mr. Schroder and fellow directors welcomed the Philadelphia group to the national network of NACC chapters in the US and wished the group success in their endeavors of attracting Norwegian business interests to the Greater Philadelphia region. The largest Norwegian investment in the region is the Aker Philadelphia Shipyard while Statoil also has interests in the Marcellus Shale natural gas development. The region is experiencing strong growth in the energy, marine and other manufacturing sectors offering great opportunities for Norwegian technology and know-how.

The chapter will be celebrated at a special reception on September 24 in Philadelphia when Mr. Frode Kjersem, president of NACCP, will sign on to the Affiliation Agreement in the presence of dignitaries representing official Norway, NACC and the City of Philadelphia. NACC members and guests are most welcome to attend this reception to be held at The Racquet Club of Philadelphia.
