Speaker: David J O’Connor, Head of Global Projects, Upstream, BP

Topic: “BP’s Global Project Portfolio and Activities”

David currently serves as BP’s Head of Global Projects, accountable for the delivery of all Upstream projects across the world. He manages an annual budget of around $10 billion gross that covers onshore, offshore and deepwater projects.

Prior to this role, David was the Vice President of Deepwater projects and over his extensive career spanning over 36 years in industry, he has worked around the world in technical and managerial roles in Houston, Alaska, Algeria, North Sea, and Egypt. David has previously served as President and General Manager for BP’s business in Sharjah, UAE.

David graduated from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degree in petroleum engineering and joined Amoco in 1983. David is married with two children and resides in Houston.
